I currently reside in the beautiful mountains of Boone, NC where I am studying journalism at Appalachian State University. I have written for my campus newspaper and freelanced at a variety of other publications spanning countries and continents. With my Arab background, I plan on focusing my future career towards Middle East affairs.

It’s the perspective that you gain with age that matters, especially with such infamous days like 9/11. But at the same time, looking back, I’m glad that I wasn’t able to process what was happening in my country. My biggest hope is that Islam in America will someday be understood.
Ramadan On Campus

Since this is the first time in about 20 years that Ramadan has occurred during the summer, its overlap with the back to school season is draining: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Luckily, the Muslim Student Association helps out.
