Julia Manning

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism where I am studying broadcast producing. I also do graphics, web design and have experience in print reporting and editing. I am staying open and flexible, as I love most areas of the field and can't wait to see where I end up! I also love sports—watching, playing, reporting on them etc. I am very passionate specifically about gender equity in sports and am an advocate for Title IX reform. Before attending MU, I spent one year at Loyola University Chicago and attended high school in Johnston, Iowa.

headshot julia manning Iowa Young Voices: Keeping My Hope Alive December 29, 2011 I feel the same flame of enthusiasm seen in 2008 has yet to ignite Iowans, and Americans, during this current election cycle. Education. Immigration. Economy. Jobs. Health care. Abortion. The lack of overwhelmed enthusiasm is due to the fact that, deep-down, Americans don’t feel confident that any candidate can manage these issues in a truly adequate way.
