Ani Ajith

I’m a sophomore at Northwestern University, majoring in political science and international studies, with a budding interest in Portuguese. As per the unofficial requirements of my majors, I’m a wannabe politician, complete with nascent megalomania, a Manhattan-sized ego, and a fondness for dramatic movie soundtracks. On the softer side, I also enjoy spending time and traveling with my family, whether it’s at home in Houston, Texas, in my hometown of Bangalore, India (I’m a proud Indian citizen), or elsewhere. At Northwestern, I’m a senator in the student government and a columnist with the independent online publication North by Northwestern, with a focus on improving campus-city relations and the Northwestern experience as a whole. Please check out my website at AniAjith.com, where I channel my inner (and outer, really) news junkie with posts on political and social issues.

Ani Ajith Foreign Policy of the Future: A “Hot and Cold” Indo-US Relationship October 17, 2011 Indians really like America. But for a country that consistently ranks the US as “awesome” on surveys when all of the U.S.'s old European “allies” are marking “declining power,” India is getting a very unfair hot-and-cold treatment.
