I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Political Science and Economics. I say “currently” because I do hope to graduate one day, and who really knows what they want to major in… Apart from classes, I’m a member of The Mask & Wig Club at Penn, the nation’s oldest all-male musical comedy troupe, and I enjoy running marathons, hiking, camping, biking, kayaking- basically anything outdoors. Fun facts to know and tell: I hail from Boston, so while I don’t say “pahk ya cah in Hahvahd yahd,” I am a wicked big Redsox fan.

The final blowout bash. At many schools these “festivals” are large campus-wide block parties that span an entire weekend (longer if you are really ambitious), replete with live concerts, outdoor carnivals and games, food vendors, and tailgating traditions accompanying sporting events.

Diversity in our schools is definitely a compelling state interest- but is the end goal to achieve diversity of thought or simply racial diversity? If we're aiming for true diversity of perspective, we should rely much more on socio-economic status as an indicator.
