ABOUT

NextGen Journal is the website for the ‘next generation’- our generation. Run by a nationwide team of college students, NGJ features focused reporting, sharp insight & analysis, timely music and sports coverage, and more. Above all, though, we aim to engage our generation, showcase our voices and opinions on topics that are relevant to us, and bring those voices into the national conversation.

———————————————–

‘The next generation.’ ‘Young voters.’ ‘Students’- these terms are all over the national dialogue. Politicians and pundits constantly mention us. They wonder about our concerns and priorities. They repeatedly use us to advocate their policies. ‘_____ is critical for the next generation.’ ‘Our children need ____ to inherit a strong America.’

It’s funny, though, that these conversations never actually include any voices or perspectives of our generation. In a time when the policies being debated will probably impact us more so than any other group; in a time when our priorities are perhaps more relevant to future success and prosperity than any others; and in a time when our votes are potentially absolutely decisiveour generation can, should, and must be included in the conversation. Our voices; our perspectives; our advocacy; our concerns; our priorities- all of these should be a part of the mainstream national dialogue.

That voice; that perspective; That sense of advocacy, votes, concerns, and priorities of our generation- That is what NextGen Journal provides. Decisions that affect you should involve you. So be informed. And get engaged.
